The UI of our software uses Microsoft Report Viewer to preview PDF reports. Ranorex will not allow me to validate anything in the report because it just sees it as a Picture. Is there any way for me to do these validations? Within the UI, I don't have any options for changing the accessibility of reports shown in the viewer.
thanks,
Stephanie
Validating elements in Microsoft Report Viewer
Re: Validating elements in Microsoft Report Viewer
Hi Stephanie,
If there is no way to enable accessibility in MS Report Viewer, then I'm afraid, you are finished
Just to be sure, have you tried to open the pdf in adobe acrobat viewer and check the accessibility state of that document (see this post how to do this)? Or even better, are you sure that the content of the pdf is not just a picture? Could you post an example PDF file?

Re: Validating elements in Microsoft Report Viewer
Thank you, Pavel. When I export the report and open it with Adobe reader I am able to see the fields and validate them with Ranorex.
Re: Validating elements in Microsoft Report Viewer
Hi,
OK, so unless you find a way to somehow enable the accessibility in MS Report Viewer, the only option seems to be using Adobe Reader instead of Report Viewer. I would suggest to check the Report Viewer documentation or eventually contact MS support.
