GDI Tracking unreliable

Since I installed Ranorex on my new Windows 7 machine, GDI tracking within our application stopped working.
It works on my development machine which is also Win7, but with various other software installed (Visual Studio, Win SDK, different .NET frameworks and -Addons, .. you name it).

On my newly setup "clean" Win 7, GDI does not detect the elements within a TreeGrid Control.
Are there some special requirements for this technique to work? Where can I tweak my system to enable GDI Tracking?

The AUT is a Web Application with WinForms elements and .NET components. (It is not developed by us, so I don't know further details).

Any ideas?

Hello Ralf,

Please try to add a process name to the GDI capture list by right-clicking on the parent form element of the control in the Ranorex Spy tree.
For further information about adding a class or a process to GDI Capture List please take a look at the section Testing of Legacy Applications in our user guide.
