Ranorex Instrumentation Wizard settings not saved?

Hello,

our automation throws the following warning:
Failed to instrument Java process. Please make sure you have enough privileges to access the process.
So I started the instrumentation wizard, as mentioned here: http://www.ranorex.com/support/user-gui ... swing.html

The GUI shows me two pid's and I want to use the second one with pid 3608.

After I select it and click next, the wizard gives me a success and I exit the wizard.
When I restart the wizard, then the selected jre is again the wrong one. As I still get the swing/awt warning, I assume that the wrong jre is used (yes, I restarted the java applications). How can I be certain of the fact that the correct jre is used? Where is the setting saved?
In one of the screenshots of the support page I can see a config file for the instrumentation wizard, but in my folder none is created. Where is this configuration stored then?
I also tried using the "specify a custom java runtime directory" option, but it didn't help.

Used Ranorex version: 5.4.0.

Best regards,
Rafael

First, Ranorex 5.4.0 is out of date and no longer supported. Please update to one of the currently supported versions (6.0.2/6.1.0) if you want reliable help. Any issues that 5.4.0 had would already have been fixed in one of its bug patch releases (5.4.6 being the newest), so raising issues about 5.4.0 here will probably not help you if you don't update.

Second, Ranorex should automatically instrument Java applications since Ranorex 5.0.0, so you should not need to manually instrument them.

Third, make sure you are starting both Ranorex (or your test exe) and your AUT under the same user level, preferably as an administrator.
