Configuring different test runs to use different data binding

Hi,

At the moment I use 1 singular .rxtst file which tests the standard AUT, looking forward we are going to have different configurations that will require testing. I already use the test run configuration tool to send certain tests to remote agent sand was wondering if there is a way to use this to configure the data source the test is using? might be one for the suggestion box..

If not whats the most sensible solution for have multiple configurations of the AUT? would I just have multiple .rxtst files one for each configuration and if so would copying tests & smart folders over cause any issues?

Thanks in advance ;)

Hi Andy,

At this time, run configurations do not support changing the data source used on test containers. I recommend creating a new feature request on our User Voice platform as I can see this being a useful feature. It means more when the request comes from you directly than from me.

In the meantime, as you mention, multiple test suites would likely be the next best solution for you. You can copy/paste test containers from one test suite to another. For more information on multiple test suites, click here.

I hope this helps!

Regards,
Ned
