Clear cache on Android Devices

Hi all,

so I've searched the forum for any advice how to clear the cache on the Ranorex Mobile Browser, but I haven't found a decent answer yet. Here's what I want to do plus some specs:

Ranorex Version: 7.2.0
Device: Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge with Android 6.0.1, connected via WiFi
RxServiceApp 1.8.9
RxBrowser: 1.8.10

I just want to test a website via Ranorex Mobile Browser, but unfortunately, my tests need to start with a cleared cache, otherwise it won't work. I've seen a solution where the adb.exe is included (see the thread "How can I restart android app via C#?"), but I don't want to deploy any apps at the moment, I just want to test websites right now. So is it possible to clear the cache without installing the Android SDK? If it's not possible, I'm willing to make a feature request for this.

Best regards

Hello Xeronar,

Thank you for posting this topic on clearing the Ranorex Web Testing (browser) app cache in the Ranorex forums.

You can clear the data stored by any app in the system settings of Android. Please touch the settings (cog) button in android, and then find the "Apps" section. Find the Ranorex Web Testing (browser) app, and open it. You will see "Storage", "Data Usage", "Permissions", etc. for the Ranorex Web Testing app. Please touch the "Storage" section, and you will see "Clear Data" and "Clear Cache" buttons. Try the "Clear Cache" button first, and the "Clear Data" button if the clear cache button does not work for what you require.
