Ranorex Could not Detect iTunes Installation

Hello!

After updating iTunes to version 12.1.0.71 in Ranorex Studio always appears 'Ranorex Technology Limitation' message saying 'Could not detect iTunes installation on this system...' (screenshot is attached). iOS mobile application from the project's repository (using Ranorex Spy that is launched after clicking 'Edit' button in repository) is not found, though in Ranorex Spy x64 it is still recognized properly.
Ranorex version is 5.2.2
iTunes version is 12.1.0.71
iOS version is 8.1.3

Can you help to solve this problem?

Hello!

For all the Ranorex users that faced with the same issue, there is an answer from Ranorex support:

"Unfortunately it seems that Apple changed something in the architecture of iTunes. A fix for this problem should be available in Ranorex 5.3."

Problems with iTunes 12.1.0

Hi,

I connected a iPhone "iPhone app u 5" with iOS 8.1.3 to a computer with Windows 7.
The last version of iTunes is installed.

When I open iTunes, I can see the connected device "iPhone app u 5".

When I open Ranorex 5.2.2.21..., I try to add a device but there is no one!
I perform the following steps:
- Click on "Devices" button
- Select "iOS (iPhone, iPad)
- Select "USB ..."
=> The message "No iTunes detected" is displayed

Does anyone have an older version of iTunes 64 bit for windows lying around?
And can anyone recommend a good tool for uninstalling that also clears the registration database?

Because I think that iTunes leves some trails there that makes it impossible to downgrade iTunes if you've updated.

At least I tried to install an older version found here: support. apple. com /downloads /#itunes
Remove the spaces in order to get the link to work
However when it gets to the end it rolls back.

So if anyone has managed to solve this please share.

OK you can just uninstall the new version and find an old one 12.0.1 (PM me if you would like me to send it to you directly).
Just remember when you install the old version make sure that the option to have auto update enabled is unchecked.

That at least did it for me.

Additionally, this will also be fixed in Ranorex 5.2.3

Please use older iTunes version until Ranorex 5.2.3 and 5.3 are released.

Itunes and IPhone wont connect

Hi there,

I have a iPhone 4, iPhone 6 and a iPad.

None of these devices now seem to connect to the iTunes.

The version I have is 12.01.26.

I have three Unspecified Devices which I cannot seem to resolve.
An Apple iPhone
2 x Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.

Has anyone else had issues with getting them to connect?

If you do a search on this forum you will see that that version of iTunes (12.1.0) is not supported yet by Ranorex. Please downgrade back to the previous version (12.0.1 or earlier) and try again.

EDIT:
Sorry to bother you, finally it was a joke of apple website. It displayed version 12.0.1 but in final I downloaded the last version 12.1!
I have got the version 12.0.1 on another website and I needed to uninstall all Apple applications before to successfully install iTunes.

It should be. Your first post listed "12.01.26", without a period between the 0 and 1, so I wanted to make sure.

Hi there

Is there any problem with the IOS 8.1.3.

I have connected a iPhone 6and iPad with 8.1.3 and they show in Itunes but not in Ranorex.
A iPhone 4 with 7.1.2 shows in Ranorex no problem.
