Skype Installation Interferes With Object Recognition

Wondering If anyone has experienced this before or know what may be causing it, the company recently pushed out Skype for business 2016 and the second this was installed Ranorex stopped recognizing Objects, I uninstall the Skype application and the recognition returns.

I have gone through this a few times, nothing else gets installed with Skype, the environment works prior to install, install and it stops.

Unfortunately skype is the main method of communication so trying to find a way of having it running on the machine I am writing test cases on.

I'm running both Skype for Business 2016 and Skype personal on my current system with no issues.

Have you tried uninstalling Ranorex and reinstalling?

1. Uninstall Ranorex.
2. Reboot.
3. Reinstall from the EXE (not the MSI).

Sometimes installations will overwrite each other's required files, even though they aren't supposed to. Doing a clean reinstall of Ranorex should help.

Skype for Business 2016 64-bit here, with Ranorex v6.2.1. Works fine for me!

Atleast I know that it does work in combination with eachother, thank you chaps!

Ive tried this combination in a WIN10 VM and it works so the issue must be at OS level or something interefering..... Ill raise a request for a reload of windows (Lets throw the kitchen sink in!!!!)
