Migrating from v6.2 to 7.2 and License manager

Hi,
I have upgraded my Ranorex 6.2 to the very new 7.2 on my PC in order to check that everything works fine with the new version before deploying it on production machines.
We currently have 2 premium licenses and 2 run-time licenses.
The problem is that we have a floating license server (which remains in V6.2 because this is the current production version) and Ranorex 7.2 cannot use these licenses.
What happens if I upgrade the license manager ? Will the V6.2 tests continue to see the new license manager ?
Do I need a temporary node license in order to validate the various recordings we have before migrating the production machines to V7.2 ?
I have currently no issues to continue the validation process of your new V7.2 so a quick answer would be appreciated
Thank you by advance

Hi Jean-Luis,
The Ranorex License Manager is backward compatible with all versions of Ranorex and we recommend to always keep it up to date. Your 6.2 test can continue to lease licenses and you can use Ranorex 7.2 using the 7.2 Ranorex License Manager.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Ned

Thank you for your quick answer.
I have migrated the license manager to version 7.2 this morning and it works fine with Ranorex 6.2.
However, I still can't run version 7.2 because it says that the license manager has been contacted but no suitable license is available !
Is there a difference between a license for Ranorex 6.2 and Ranorex 7.2 ?
Is it because we installed them more than 1 year ago and that we are now out of the maintenance period ?
Is there a fee to pay for migrating ?

Hi,
Your existing Ranorex license is most probably expired and you need to renew it first! Ranorex license covers one year of support and updates (both major and minor Ranorex versions). So if your existing license is more than one year old, you need to renew it first in order to be able to use 7.x. Please check this page about Ranorex renewal pricing:

Hello Jean-Louis,
Thank you Pavel for answering Jean's question.
Please make sure that you use a license key with a valid subscription. In order to give you more information I would need the license key you are currently using. Since I don't want you to post the license key to the forum may I ask you to send an email to
[email protected]. We will be happy to help you as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Bernhard

Thank you very much for your help.
In fact, my company purchased and received a maintenance license, last April but the information does not reach me !
The license has been delivered by mail to a person in our purchasing dept and to my manager but nobody thought to transfer the mail to me !
After entering the correct licenses, Ranorex 7.2 correctly starts and runs...
