Ranorex 8.3.1: Cannot Create New Solution

Hi,
I have exactly the same error as the topic (Ranorex 8.3.1: Cannot Create New Project) with create a new solution.
I already did all suggested actions:
  • uninstall Rx 8.3.1
  • install Rx 8.3.1 again
  • change the directory on Tools, Options, Project and solutions to the default: C:\Users\kkaehler\Ranorex\RanorexStudio Projects
When I create a new solution I get the error with the invalid path. This invalid path is different than the one I set on default.
Can someone tell me on which other places I have to change the path?

I'm using: Windows 7 Enterprise Service pack 1
I'm trying to use: Ranorex 8.3.1+git.79268421

Hi,

Ensure that Ranorex is installed within a trusted location, e.g. C:\Program Files. Furthermore, please try erasing all config files, located within %appdata% (C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming):

Hi,

Ranorex is installed at C:\Program Files (x86). I didn't change the suggested location.
I deleted all the config files and tried to create a new solution but no luck.
RanorexConfig8.xml was created again.

I installed Rx 8.3.1 already some weeks ago, worked all the time on an existing solution and it worked fine.
Any other ideas?

Hi,

At first, try to install most recent Ranorex 8.3.2 (uninstall 8.3.1 first).
At next, go to C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Ranorex\Logs and delete all logs available in this folder.
Finally, start Ranorex Studio, go to Settings >> Plugins tab and there select User Settings. Then set Log level to Trace...

And finally, try to create new solution. Once it fails, go to Logs directory and zip all logs available in this folder (mainly RanorexStudio.log). Then post them here (zipped), eventually, send them directly to Ranorex support, via their support form.
