Switching off PDF reports (10.5.0)?

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or intention, to me it amounts to the former:
There does not seem to be a way to switch off the output of the new PDF reports in Ranorex 10.5.0, at least I could not find any. We create .html report files for use in a browser, do not need PDF reports and operate with limited storage capacity.
It seems the feature is controlled by two radio buttons, one of which is always on, so how is this turned off?
Also, we have the compressed report copies switched off (limited storage, see above), and now it seems that they are created anyway, since now a 'temp' subfolder with the .rxzlog file is generated in our target folder. Why does this happen and how can we get rid of this?
Another thing, why is it not possible to enter something directly in the 'Export PDF to this directory:' field? Now only existing folders can be selected, it seems.
And finally, what is the use of the option 'Overwrite file'? Is this only applied, when the file name specified in 'Report file' is not per se unique?

Hi,

- The radio button issue is best reported directly to the support team, whether it's a bug or a feature request.
- For the .rxzlog file, are you executing with any Agents or only single machine through command line? Do you use a custom template or any extra reporting steps in the script?
- You can make a new folder once you open the triple dot dialog (in the bottom left corner of it), but as of now not directly in the text field. You can include that feature request alongside the PDF point.
- You are correct about the "overwrite file" option.

We execute remotely on single VMs (Win2019 Server), no Agent and no custom template or extra steps. A report file directory on the same VM is specified, from where our build environment fetches the report files, which is where this 'temp' folder shows up with the .rxzlog copies, even though the compressed report option is off. I noticed this when executing directly from the Ranorex Studio, so it has nothing to do with remote execution.

Sorry, haven't found too many references to the "temp" issue. If enabling then disabling "compressed report" in the UI and checking the settings/preferences txt file in the solution folder don't provide any clues, a potential quick, brute force way could be adding the "clear temp dir" step to the front of the step (if you are running from command line).

I'll quote the info from the Ranorex support regarding this:
"There is the option to keep "Reports" as the default directory and in this case, the temp folder is not being created, and therefore you get rid of the Ranorex compressed Report."
Of limited value for us, as we'd have to restructure our build environment for this, but maybe helpful for others.
They also said that they consider making PDF output optional in the future, so perhaps not all hope is lost...

Just FYI: Ranorex has now released version 10.5.4, with a fix that allows for switching off the PDF reports. This also means that the compressed copies can really be switched off again, as long as the PDF reporting is also switched off, because the PDF reporting apparently requires the compressed copies to work.
