Ranorex application 'flashing' when test completes (v5.3.0)

I am having an issue with Ranorex after upgrading to v5.3.0 on some PCs but not all.

On one PC I can load Ranorex and run a test case as normal. When the test completes the whole Ranorex application starts flashing and will not respond to any mouse clicks and has to be shut down. You get the same problem with any subsequent tests once they have completed.
All tests on this same PC ran successfully on v5.2.3, it’s only since the upgrade to v5.3.0 that the issue has occurred.

Another PC can run the same test on v5.3.0 and the application behaves as normal so I'm thinking this must be PC specific.

Having said that the tests all ran successfully on v5.2.3 and can't figure why the upgrade would have caused the problems.

Both machines above are Windows 7 64-bit, SP1, 8GB RAM and are running v5.3.0 of Ranorex. All tests run under the Default Layout.

Could anyone possibly help with this please?

Hi Markus

I have sent the email again but this time without the ZIP attachment. I originally attached a short video showing the flashing screen. When I sent the first email on Friday I did get the automated response email from Ranorex which tells me that the email was received.

An update on this issue. There have been various emails back and forth between myself and the Support Team and today I was on a remote session with Robert. After many attempts at trying to find the issue Robert suggested trying shutting down some application processes. I disabled (rather than shut down) the McAfee On-Access Scan and the flashing stopped.

Obviously this is not good from a company point of view so I have asked one of our security team to look into this on our side and hopefully we will have a resolution soon.

In the meantime I can run tests ok on machines with v5.2 installed, if v5.3 is installed on a particular machine then I can disable the McAfee scan for the duration of the testing.

A final update on this issue. This is now fixed, changes had to be made to allow our McAfee Scan program to recognise the Ranorex version number. This wasn't an issue with previous releases/updates but has been since v5.3.
I have updated all our installs to v5.3 and they are working as expected.
