weird IE-related warning shown in Chrome and FF tests

Post by odklizec » Thu Apr 05, 2018 2:49 pm

I'm getting a weird IE-related warning in FF and Chrome related tests (in IE tests too). Despite the fact, that I have most recent versions of Ranorex plugins installed and enabled in all three browsers, I'm getting this warning:

The thing is, that I'm getting this error only on my physical Win 10 machine (Version 65.0.3325.181 (Official Build) (64-bit)). I'm unable to reproduce it on my VMs with Windows Server 2012 r2. I can happily ignore this warning, because I'm testing mainly on VMs, but it's indeed strange to see such warning in FF and Chrome tests ;)

Here is a sample project, but as mentioned, I can reproduce it only on my physical machine, so it may not work the same way for you ;)...

Hi odklizec,

It seems like an IE process is running in the background and causing this warning.
Have you already checked your processes?
Maybe, when Ranorex looks through your dom and form elements, it somehow gets an IE process and throws this warning.

You should also check your Ranorex Automation add-on for IE and see if i is enabled.

I once had the same warning and my IE addon showed "incompatible". After disabling the enhanced protected mode in IE options, the warning didnt appear anymore.
