I have written the code in Windows XP and ran the application. Now copied the same code into Windows Vista and try to run the application, and it doesn't work.
I started to write the application in Vista and trying to track the elements of the dialog, the Tracker or the Rnaorex Spy doesn't recognize the elements of the application which worked in Windows XP.
Can you let me know whether Ranorex will work for the applications in Vista or not.

Depends.
Most applications should work with no or small changes.
Some things are naturally different, like the start menu / taskbar.
If possible please post (or mail to
[email protected]) a snapshot (using Ranorex Spy) of the application/dialog in question in both XP or Vista. Alternatively, if your application is publicly available, please provide us with a download link so we can try it out.

Can you let me know how to track the elements in vista system. When i click on the button tag in the web form it shows its id as "
[/dom[@caption='Internet Security Suite']/./body./body/*/*/*/*/*/div[@id='Welcome_MiddlePanel']/*/*/tr[2]/*/*/a]" in windows XP.
But when i track in windows vista it shows "/form[@title='Instalador']/*/*/*/element[@class='Internet Explorer_Server']"
In windows it shows as dom, but in windows vista i shows as form.
And the elements are not recognized .
Can you help me out from this????

It seems that Ranorex is unable to retrieve the DOM from the Internet Explorer window.
What version of IE are you using ?
What Vista ServicePack versions are installed ?
Please check that ..
.. the DOM object isnt visible in the Spy in Vista (as a child of the "host")
.. you have local administrator privileges on the vista machine
.. that IE is not running in "secure" or "protected" mode
If Ranorex is able to access in the DOM, the paths should be exactly the same.
