Could anybody confirm please whether Ranorex currently supports the following platforms, or if not, if there is a target date for doing so?
WinPhone 8.0
WinPhone 8.1
Windows 8.x desktop Metro-style apps
Windows 10 (currently in preview)
I am building an app using Xamarin.Forms that works on Android, iOS, WinPhone and WinRT/desktop. Using Xamarin.UITest, I have tests that use the same code to work on Android and iOS, but as Xamarin.UITest doesn't currently support Windows platforms, I can not use UITest to cover all of the platform supported by Xamarin.Forms. I would be interested to know whether (a) Ranorex now supports all of these platforms, and (b) how realistic it is that using Ranorex with C# that a thin wrapper could be implemented to make one set of tests in C# work across Android, iOS, WinPhone 8.0/8.1 and WinRT/Desktop.
Many thanks,
John H.

Re: Windows Support
Hi,
Windows Phone platform is currently not supported. There were some indices that Ranorex folks are working on it, but no word about release date yet (if ever).
Windows 8.x (desktop) apps are supported. If you are experiencing some problems, check this troubleshooting guide...

Support for Windows 10 apps has been added in latest Ranorex 5.4. Just give it a try.
There is no word yet about supporting Windows 10 mobile apps. In a theory, it could be much easier to add support for Windows 10 mobile apps than support for Windows Phone 8.x, since Windows 10 apps are supposed to be universal apps built with more or less the same code as desktop apps? We will see
As for RT, I may be wrong, but I would not expect any support here. It's a very minor platform and on a death row anyway. RT devices are not compatible with Windows 10, which makes them practically obsolete.

Thanks Pavel.
Can anybody from Ranorex provide any timescales for WinPhone support (whether 8.0, 8.1 or 10) please?
Thanks,
John H.

Re: Windows Support
Hello John,
We are currently analyzing if we will provide WinPhone support. Unfortunately, there is no time scale available at the moment.
Regards,
Robert
