Working with GIT Source Control

Post by stapes » Mon Sep 21, 2015 5:06 pm

I see from your user manual that Ranorex Studio comes with the integration of the two source control systems Subversion and Team Foundation Server.

My company uses GIT for its Source Control.

Can Ranorex be integrated with GIT?

No, it cannot. We use GitHub and have asked about integration as well (see below). Your best bet is to use the Git command-line tools (or get GitHub Desktop if you use GitHub).

From what Ranorex says, the time and effort it would take to integrate Git into Ranorex Studio would be prohibitive and they would prefer to focus on functionality instead of third-party integration. Personally, I agree with them, and I would love to see them completely eliminate integrations with all source-control systems as that is just one more thing that can fail and that they have to worry about keeping up with instead of their core business.
